Seed treatment

  • In dormant cultivars, break the seed dormancy by soaking the seeds in equal volume of 200 ppm ethrel for 1 h.
  • Harden the groundnut seeds by soaking the seeds in 0.5 % CaCl2 (50 % seed volume) for 6 h (OR)
  • Coat the seeds with TNAU Vidhai Amirtham @ 11 ml / kg of seeds.
  • Treat the seeds with Carbendazim @ 2g/kg of seeds
  • Treat the seeds with Trichoderma viride @ 4g/kg seeds (or)
  • Seed treatment will protect the young seedlings from root-rot and collar rot infection

  • Carrier Based Formulation: Treat the seeds required for one hectare with 1 kg each of biofertilizers viz., Rhizobium, and Phosphobacteria, using rice gruel, shade dry for 30 minutes before sowing.

  • Liquid Formulation: Treat the seeds required for one hectare with 125 ml of each biofertilizers viz., Rhizobium, and Phosphobacteria, shade dry for 30 minutes before sowing.

Soil application:

  • Carrier Based Formulation: Two kgs each biofertilizersviz., Rhizobium, and Phosphobacteria with 25 kg of FYM and 25 kg of sand and broad cast uniformly at the time of last ploughing
  • Liquid Formulation: 500 ml each of biofertilizers viz., Rhizobium, and Phosphobacteria with 25kg of FYM and 25kg of sand and broad cast uniformly at the time of last ploughing
  • PPFM spray: Foliar spray @ 500 ml/ha of PPFM (Pink Pigmented Facultative Methylotroph) is recommended on 35 and 70 days after sowing.

SEED RATE

  • Varieties: 120 kg/ha of kernels

Bold seeded varieties: 175 kg/ha of kernels

SPACING
  • Adopt 30 cm x 10 cm

If bud necrosis is prevalent, adopt     15 cm x 15 cm

SOWING
  • Dibble the seeds at 4 cm depth in adjacent/along with basal fertilizer applied row line/ zone
